Jade Henderson wins the Marjorie Dunlavy Memorial Scholarship
Honey Lake Hospice is proud to announce the recipient of the Marjorie Dunlavy Memorial Scholarship for 2026 – Ms. Jade Henderson.

Henderson is currently a student at Lassen Community College, participating in clinicals to complete the Registered Nursing Program.
She has overcome adversity in her early life and is on a career path focused on behavioral health and intervention, hospice or palliative care.
Henderson carries a consistent desire: To build a stable future for her family and to serve others through a career in healthcare.
Her background of extensive training as a Certified Nurses Aid, Phlebotomy, resident aid, and medication technician brought her to Lassen College in Spring of 2023. Henderson was welcomed into the RN Nursing program with open arms and kind hearts.
She comes highly recommended by her instructors and friends.
They say she has “chosen a career path where she will absolutely excel” and that “her calming nature and desire to help others will make her a valued asset to any organization.”
One stated “she is a very driven student with goals and aspirations” and “able to balance both schoolwork and motherhood.”
Strong praise from one instructor was that Henderson “consistently sought clarification and asked thoughtful questions…she aimed to truly understand. That intellectual maturity is uncommon and garners my utmost respect.”
That same instructor went on to say that “Jade represents the very best of what we hope for in future healthcare professionals: intellectual curiosity, compassion, discipline, leadership and resilience.
The scholarship committee and volunteers of Honey Lake Hospice celebrate her resilience and determination and are honored to award her the $2,000 scholarship.
