This event will. be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at Forest Office Supply, 720 Main St. Mark your calendars for an unforgettable evening at the Chamber Mixer, hosted by Forest Office Supply. Connect with fellow business professionals and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere in Historic Uptown Susanville.Culinary delights — Golden Poppy and Sideiron Cafe will provide delicious bites to savor. Ohana’s 365 will be serving their crowd-pleasing dishes. The National Public Lands Day and Hometown Pride: Depot, Bizz Johnson and Main Street Cleanup
This event begins at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Historic Train Depot, 601 Richmond Road. Join us for a day of volunteerism, fun and food at our National Public Lands Day and Hometown Pride cleanup at the Depot, Bizz Johnson Trail, and Main Street Susanville. Lunch will be provided to those who RSVP to lassenlandandtrailstrust.org/npld.

Benson’s Humble Homestead’s Lunch on the Farm
This event will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept 17, at 712-960 Sunnyside Road, Susanville. Come enjoy the day at the farm. Bring your own towel — the 4-foot Burger Sprinkler will be going. Pictures with a unicorn, and half-pound burgers built your way with our annual build a burger bar. Vendors, artisans, bakers, coffee roasters, antiques and more.

Susanville Future Farmer’s of America Tri Tip Dinner
This event will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at the Lassen High School back parking lot.  This drive-through dinner includes tri-tip, potato salad, green salad, roll and dessert. Tickets are $15 each and help fund FFA travel and activities throughout the year. Call the school at (530) 257-2141 or find an FFA member for tickets.

Historic Uptown Susanville Farmer’s Market
This event will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 21, at Pancera Plaza in Uptown Susanville. Come and enjoy fresh produce, handmade goods, and local crafts at the Susanville Farmer’s Market. Support local farmers and artisans while enjoying a morning out with family and friends.

Blue Star Mom’s Bingo Night at the Veteran’s Hall
This event will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, at the Veteran’s Memorial Hall. The fundraiser aims to raise funds for the organization’s various initiatives, such as providing support to military families and promoting patriotism. Admission is $5 per bundle, which includes five games. There will also be beverages and snacks available for purchase. A total of 200 bundles will be available. The Blue Star Moms invite the community to come out and enjoy a fun evening of bingo while supporting a worthy cause.

Lassen Family Services “You’ve Been Ghosted”
This event, at various locations, begins Tuesday, Oct. 1, at Lassen Family Services, 1306 Riverside Drive. If you see some haunted front lawns around town in October, don’t be frighted. LFS will be placing little ghosts into Susanville yards as part of their “Ghosted” fundraiser during October. Money raised by the fun, community event allows LFS to continue providing services to survivors of violence in our community. Here’s how it works – if ghosts are placed in your yard, you will receive a form taped to your door explaining how you can ‘ghost’ another lawn. You can place your ghosting order beginning today and little ghosts will start appearing around town Oct. 1. The flyer from LFS points out that ghosting is “done in good spirits and is not meant to be offensive in any way. These ghosts will rest in peace on a lawn for 24 hours until the mysteriously cross over to another person’s lawn.” If you wake up to find that you have been ghosted, and you would like to pick where the ghosts will haunt next, LFS asks for a small donation of $20. Even if you haven’t been ghosted yet, you can ghost someone else for just $20. For more information call (530) 257.4599.
