Lassen Humane Society plans upcoming fundraisers
The Lassen Humane Society has been funding its activities through estate donations and grants, but that funding is running out. So, the LHS thanks those who attended the recent Cat Scratch Fever concert in Memorial Park and announces plans for upcoming fundraisers.
“We’re at an interesting time as far as the Humane Society goes,” said chairman Kenneth Bunch as the society’s Aug. 13 meeting. “We pretty much have done well with the contributions we got from a couple of inheritances and a grant from the state of California. We’re at the end of those funds, so we’re back to putting more focus on fundraising like the organization did five years ago. We have a budget of about $40,000 and basically we pay as we go with fundraising and donations from the community, so part of the budget will be dedicated to the fundraising.”
