LMUD hosts annual Customer Appreciation Day

Pat Holley, LMUD’s general manager, and Darren Hagata, LMUD director, pose for a photo at LMUD’s Customer Appreciation Day.

As it does every year, the Lassen Municipal Utility District hosted Customer Appreciation Day Thursday, Sept. 8 under a big tent in the parking lot of its future home, the former Bank of America building on Main Street in Uptown Susanville.

More than 400 local residents stopped by to enjoy a giant hot dog with all the trimmings, soda, chips and cookies, LMUD swag and a chance to win a $100 LMUD Energy Gift Card — offered by the publicly owned utility district to say thank you to its customers.

Many in the community hope LMUD’s move into Uptown Susanville — with a drive through for customers to pay their bills, an electric vehicle charging station along North Gay Street with a mini-park under an existing pine tree and an informational kiosk will help spark a revival of the historic neighborhood.
