LUHSD Board holds special meeting Monday, April 15 — may hire new superintendent

The Lassen Union High School District Board announces a special meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday, April 15 at the District Office, 1000 Main St. Susanville.

LUHSD Superintendent Morgan Nugent announces his resignation, and July 1, he will become the new superintendent at the Fall River Joint Unified School District.

According to the agenda, the board will hold an overview of the search/hiring process for a new superintendent, a timeline for the search and the methods the board intends to utilize to seek potential candidates.

But under closed session the board also will discuss the public employee appointment of the superintendent.

Other items on the agenda include Public Comment, the Consent Agenda (approval of a Wednesday, April 24 field trip to Job Corps in Reno by eight Community Day School students), approval of a pair of resolutions regarding the sale of the Mugsy property and consideration of future agenda items.

The board’s next meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m., May 6.
