National Weather Service issues a freeze warning for our region

According to the National Weather Service in Reno, Nevada, a Freeze Warning in effect from 11 p.m. this evening to 8 a.m. Friday morning.

Sub-freezing temperatures with lows of 21 to 27 degrees are expected Friday morning in Lassen, Eastern Plumas and Eastern Sierra counties.

Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.
