Supes hold two special meetings in Bieber Tuesday
According to a statement from Lassen County, there will be a Lassen County Board of Supervisors Special Meeting at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 23 in the Bieber Veterans Memorial Hall located at 657-575 Bridge Street, Bieber.
There also will be a Special Lassen-Modoc County Flood Control and Water Conservation District meeting at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 23 in the Bieber Veterans Memorial Hall, 657-575 Bridge Street, Bieber.
Lassen County Board of Supervisors Special Meeting
Closed session
The board will meet in closed session for a conference with legal counsel regarding a significant exposure to litigation (if needed); and a conference with legal counsel regarding two liability claims (Jay Schapp; and Arthur Poteete, Brenda Poteete and Katie Poteete).
Matters set for time certain
Two items have been set for time certain — 10 a.m. a retirement proclamation for David Lile; and at 10:05 a presentation of the Lassen County Children and Families Commission annual report.
Boards and commissions
The board will consider making an appointment to the Lassen County Fair Advisory Board for District 3. There are three applicants.
Information/consent calendar
The board will consider authorization of travel expenses for the American Public Health Association Annual Conference for three public health employees (cost is $3,871.23 each); a resolution accepting funding from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant; and receiving a file miscellaneous correspondence.
Department reports
The board will receive a statement from the agricultural commissioner regarding Dyers Woad weed abatement.
County Administrative Office
The board will consider amendments to a joint powers agreement with Public Risk Innovation, Solutions and Management; and the supes will consider revisions to the job descriptions for the assistant director of solid waste, heavy equipment mechanic and senior heavy equipment mechanic.
Public Works Department
The board will consider a resolution adopting a list of projects funded by SB 1.

The board’s next regularly scheduled meeting will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 14.
Lassen-Modoc County Flood Control and Water Conservation District Special Meeting
The supes will meet as members of the Lassen-Modoc County Flood Control and Water Conservation District in a special meeting at 1:30 p.m.
Items on the agenda include a public hearing and consideration of the district’s 2027/2027 budget; approval of minutes of the board’s June 25, 2025 meeting; and an annual report and contract renewal regarding the Lassen Modoc Flood Control and Water Conservation District Flow Meter Annual Report.
