Supes take on busy agenda tomorrow morning including several fair issues

The Lassen County Board of Supervisors hold a regularly scheduled meeting at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8 in the Board Chambers, 707 Nevada St.

The meeting begins in closed session at 9 a.m. with a conference with legal counsel (if needed) and a conference with labor negotiator Scott McLeran, of the Management and Professional Association.

The public portion of the meeting begins at 9:30 a.m. Items on the agenda include public comment; Board and Commissions (Clear Creek Community Services District appointments and annual California State Association of Counties appointments); Information/Consent Calendar (amended minutes of the Sept. 28 meeting; minutes of the Sept. 24 meeting); appointment of Robert Jordan Funk as local enforcement officer for solid waste; miscellaneous correspondence items; and the personnel movement report for August 2024); Department Reports (Military Equipment Use Policy; 2023/2024 end of year budget modifications — increase appropriation in Fair Fund/Budget Unit No. 175-1751 by $120,258.12; and 2) transfer cash from Fund No. 100 in the amount of $295,000 to Fair Fund No. 175; and/or 3) provide direction to staff. (4/5 vote required); update county fire warden resolution No. 83/84-47; waive first reading of outdoor burning ordinance; award $98,950 contract to Flock Group, Inc. for 13 fixed automated license plate readers; discussion regarding the powers and duties of county administrative officer regarding the fair department and Lassen County Fair Manager job description; a $400,000 agreement between Lassen County and North Valley Behavioral Health to provide acute psychiatric inpatient care to county residents in FY 2024/2025; an additional $82,824.46 in expenditures from the Hidden Woods Festival; and information for the board of supervisors.

The board’s next regularly scheduled meeting will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15.
