Susanville Rotary Club invites community seniors to 2nd annual Senior Citizen Celebration Luncheon, Saturday, Aug. 22
As part of its Centennial Year Celebration (1926-2026), the Susanville Rotary Club is proud to host its 2nd Annual Senior Citizen Celebration Luncheon in honor of National Senior Citizens Day.

The luncheon will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22 at the Susanville Senior Center, 1700 Sunkist Drive, Susanville.
All senior citizens are welcome to attend free of charge.

Rotary has dedicated this day as Senior Day,” said Rotarian Todd Eid, “and on behalf of Rotary, we want to put on a lunch, give the seniors an opportunity to sit and chat with fellow seniors. It’s pretty lowkey. It’s just us offering them a day to get out and meet with people who are just like them.”
This event is dedicated t0 the memory of Shane Holland who played a major role in last year’s event.

National Senior Citizens Day
National Senior Citizens Day was established through Presidential Proclamation 5847, signed by President Ronald Reagan in 1988, recognizing the countless contributions older Americans have made to their families, communities, and the nation. The Susanville Rotary Club is honored to continue that tradition by celebrating the seniors who have helped shape Lassen County and our community.
The event features a complimentary luncheon, entertainment, fellowship, door prizes, recognition of senior citizens and opportunities for community members to express their appreciation for the generations who have contributed so much to Susanville’s history and success.

The Susanville Rotary Club is grateful for the support of many community partners and businesses that have joined together to make this special event possible. Their generosity reflects the spirit of community service and respect for our senior citizens.
“National Senior Citizens Day gives us an opportunity to pause and recognize the wisdom, dedication and contributions of those who came before us,” said members of the Susanville Rotary Club’s planning committee. “We invite all seniors to join us for an afternoon of food, friendship and appreciation.”

Community organizations, businesses and individuals wishing to support the event through donations or sponsorships are encouraged to participate. Every contribution helps ensure a memorable celebration for local seniors and strengthens this growing community tradition.
Susanville Rotary Club dedicates this event in the memory of Shane Holland, a dedicated Rotarian and last year’s co-chair of the 1st Annual Susanville Rotary Club Senior Citizens luncheon. Shane’s commitment to service and his passion for honoring seniors continue to inspire this event.
