Susanville Rotary Club invites community seniors to 2nd annual Senior Citizen Celebration Luncheon, Saturday, Aug. 22
As part of its Centennial Year Celebration (1926-2026), the Susanville Rotary Club is proud to host its 2nd Annual Senior Citizen Celebration Luncheon in honor of National Senior Citizens Day.
The luncheon will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22 at the Susanville Senior Center, 1700 Sunkist Drive, Susanville.
All senior citizens are welcome to attend free of charge.

It’s pretty lowkey. It’s just us offering them a day to get out and meet with people who are just like them.”
This event is dedicated t0 the memory of Shane Holland who played a major role in last year’s event.

National Senior Citizens Day was established through Presidential Proclamation 5847, signed by President Ronald Reagan in 1988, recognizing the countless contributions older Americans have made to their families, communities, and the nation. The Susanville Rotary Club is honored to continue that tradition by celebrating the seniors who have helped shape Lassen County and our community.
The event features a complimentary luncheon, entertainment, fellowship, door prizes, recognition of senior citizens and opportunities for community members to express their appreciation for the generations who have contributed so much to Susanville’s history and success.

Susanville Supermarket IGA created this delicious cake for the event last year.Community organizations, businesses and individuals wishing to support the event through donations or sponsorships are encouraged to participate. Every contribution helps ensure a memorable celebration for local seniors and strengthens this growing community tradition.
