Walmart gives back to the community
When a local school, sports team, club or nonprofit needs a little helping hand to get the job done, they probably don’t consider corporate giant Walmart might make a great partner. But they’d be wrong. They should.
Walmart People Leader Samantha Delgato said Walmart and her store manager Amy Holley are both dedicated to giving back to the community they serve.

“We’re always big on helping the community,” Delgato said. “We make many donations to the community. Any nonprofit may request items. We don’t make cash awards, although we may be able to offer grants. We do in-kind donations.”
Walmart customers surely must recognize the company’s involvement with the community helping groups such as the Salvation Army, Hope Wheels, the holiday Angel Trees, and many, many more.
“We love doing things like this for the community,” Delgato said. “If they ask, and we can do it, we will.”

“I would like to thank the Hope Wheels organization for facilitating this large donation from Walmart for our 8th Annual Backpack Drive,” said Ingram. “The work they do is extraordinary and nobody knows the importance of supporting our youth like Tim, Glenn, Mason and the Hope Wheels crew. Thank you.”
At the same time Walmart is helping with Ingram’s backpack drive, the company also supports a similar effort by the Salvation Army.According to Ingram’s Facebook page, “The 8th Annual Backpack Drive is rapidly approaching! Back to school sales are getting ready to start. We are in need of everything from crayons pens, pencils, pencil sharpeners, notebooks, backpacks and water bottles. Feel free to call me at (530) 249-6431 if you can donate anything. There are backpacks with supplies at every school across District 5 that I dropped off last year. Let’s make this year an even bigger success. Any donations would be greatly appreciated to help get our kiddos what they need to succeed.”
