24/7 traffic control on Highway 89 south of Canyon Dam for continued slide repair

The California Department of Transportation and Hat Creek Construction & Materials, Inc. are preparing to begin continued slide repairs on Highway 89 in Plumas County. The $1.22 million project will further address slide activity on Highway 89 near Canyon Dam, approximately 0.4 mile of the Wolf Creek Underpass. Operations on the project include slope excavation and grading, debris removal, and placement of rock slope protection and erosion control.

Starting Wednesday, Aug. 16, motorists should plan for 24/7 traffic control in the area with up to 15-minute delays. Motorists are urged to slow down and drive carefully in and around construction areas, follow speed limit reductions in place, and allot extra time for delays. The project is currently anticipated to be completed by early October.
