Fair honors Grand Marshals, Old Timers of the Year

The Lassen County Fair honored its Grand Marshal and Old Timers of the Year at a luncheon at the fairgrounds Friday, July 19.

This year’s Grand Marshals are Gino Surian and Dick Bendix, a retired brigadier general.

Surian retired this year after operating the T&A Lounge for 65 years, the longest family owned and operated business in Lassen County.

Bendix, 96, served 37 years in the U.S. Army in Korea, Germany and the Pentagon.

This year’s Old Timers of the Year are Laurel Marsters and Raelene Waltman.
