The work of local photographer Patricia Neely will be on display at the Artisan Coffee gallery, located at 464-440 Church St. in Janesville, during the month of November.
Neely, who specializes in wildlife and landscape photography, said she plans to display about 80 photographs at the gallery — including 40 framed photographs and 40 unframed photographs. She also intends to bring a collection of about 60 note cards featuring mostly local subjects.
The largest photograph in the collection on display is about 22 by 30 inches. Neely prints all her own photographs.

She won Best in Show at the 2009 Lassen County Fair for a photograph she took of two wild horses fighting near Pyramid Lake in Nevada, but she said she did not enter this year’s fair.
Neely, a Lassen County resident since 1987, came to Lassen County from Sacramento.
She attended Lassen Community College and got interested in photography after taking a class from Lynn Fuller. Neely said she plans to continue taking art classes at the college.
Neely said she plans to bring a number of wildlife images to the show, including eagles photographed at Eagle Lake, a bear photographed at Taylor Creek near South Lake Tahoe and a photograph of a pair of grebes doing a mating ritual at Eagle Lake.

Neely said she often spends hours in blinds waiting for the birds to come and the light to be just right before taking some of her photographs.
“I spend a ton of time at Eagle Lake every year,” she said.
She also plans to exhibit a stunning photograph of Fly Geyser, located on private property near Gerlach, Nevada.
Neely said a farmer working on an irrigation system created the geyser in 1918 when his equipment punctured the aquifer. The red color of the rock that formed from the minerals in the water is unique, Neely said.
“To me, it’s just so beautiful,” Neely said.
A selection of Neely’s photographs is available for viewing at her website, patricianeelyphotography.com.
