Big, big poetry news as Lassen Land and Trails Trust and the Thompson Peak Writer’s Workshop host El Dorado County Poet Laureate Emeritus Lara Gularte at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 14 at the Historic Railroad Depot in Susanville.
Gularte recently returned from the Himalayan Literature Festival in Nepal and will talk about the state of literature, growing up in a ranching family and will read a few of her poems.
Literary critic Vamberto Freitas, said, “In all her work, Lara Gularte reaffirms the sacred power of poetry itself — the art that binds the finite to the infinite.”
According to a poster for the event, “Do come and hear a seasoned writer speak and read her remarkable work.”
