After ‘No Kings’ mobilizations, progressives turn to next phase: Converting mass protest into electoral power

As the 2026 midterms take shape following nationwide “No Kings” mobilizations, Our Revolution, the nation’s largest grassroots progressive organization, will host a national “Organize to Win” town hall at 8:30 p.m. ET this evening, Monday, April 6, positioning the movement’s next phase as a direct challenge to corporate power and a test of whether mass protest can be converted into electoral victories.

According to a statement from Our Revolution, the timing is especially relevant as President Donald Trump is expected to deliver remarks today on the Iran war. Participants on the call, including Ro Khanna and Jeff Merkley, will be sharing their reaction to the speech and what it signals moving forward.

Separately, Khanna has been leading a push, backed by Our Revolution, urging Senate Democrats to block any Attorney General confirmation without full Epstein transparency, while Merkley continues to lead efforts opposing expanded war powers and unchecked military funding.

A slate of congressional candidates in key primaries are running on rejecting corporate PAC money and positioning themselves as part of a broader effort to reshape the party and mount a more substantive opposition.  They share news from their campaigns as well.

The call will spotlight growing alignment among lawmakers and candidates advancing a shared framework to take on billionaire influence, reject corporate PAC money, and build governing power rooted in working people.

Organizers describe this as a defining moment for the progressive movement: moving from protest to power by translating unprecedented grassroots energy into coordinated electoral strategy in the 2026 cycle.

The virtual event will feature U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley, who has been at the forefront in Washington challenging executive overreach and opposing expanded war powers, US Rep. Ro Khanna, leader behind the Epstein Transparency Act, alongside a slate of candidates running campaigns centered on rejecting corporate PAC money and confronting entrenched economic power.

Speakers will focus on how the energy from the No Kings mobilizations is being channeled into organizing infrastructure, voter engagement, and competitive races across the country. The event will highlight how candidates in both safe and contested districts are aligning around a common approach to expanding the progressive coalition and delivering material gains for working-class communities.

Khanna, who has called on Senate Democrats to block any Attorney General confirmation absent full Epstein transparency and accountability, will discuss the effort on the call, which Our Revolution is backing through a national petition urging Democrats to hold the line.
