The coalition backing Prop 39 for Voter ID officially filed a lawsuit over the measure’s false and misleading ballot title assigned by Attorney General Rob Bonta in Sacramento yesterday.
Assemblymember Carl DeMaio.
Assemblymember Carl DeMaio — who is one of the initiative’s official proponent authors and a leader of the YES on Prop 39 campaign — issued the following statement “Rob Bonta knows that Prop 39 is likely to pass because it is a bipartisan solution to Voter ID and is supported by a supermajority of Democratic, independent, and Republican voters.
“Knowing he can’t defeat our bipartisan solution to Voter ID in a fair election, he has decided to rig the vote against Prop 39 with a false title claiming it prohibits citizens from voting.
“California voters deserve a fair election, and that’s why our coalition is suing.”
