Busy day for law enforcement: Police conduct compliance checks, make traffic stops

On Thursday, Oct. 15, members of the Susanville Police Department, with the assistance of members from the High Desert State Prison ISU unit, conducted a sex offender and arson registration compliance check within the city of Susanville.

Approximately 18 registered offenders were contacted including those currently on parole.

According to a statement from the SPD, “Charges will be forwarded to the Lassen County District Attorney’s Office on those found in violation of their registration or parole requirements.”

During the compliance check, officers contacted a 52-year-old man who dispatch confirmed had three outstanding warrants for his arrest from Glenn County. He was taken into custody and booked into the Lassen County Jail, where he awaits transfer to Glenn County.

Officers also conducted a traffic stop between compliance checks, which yielded three additional arrests — two for possession of drug paraphernalia, and one for an outstanding felony warrant in Lassen County.
