Caltrans invites the public to a public open house on the Susanville Highway 139 project from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7 at the Lassen County Fairgrounds.
According to a flyer on the meeting, the project includes intermittent closures of Highway 139 in the spring of 2025, including one-way traffic controls.
Those who cannot attend the meeting may submit comments and questions at d2plo@dot.ca.gov.
Project overview This project will implement a pavement rehabilitation strategy on Highway 139 in Lassen County. This project will extend the life of the pavement, replace six curb ramps, upgrade guardrail, upgrade concrete barrier, widen shoulders in select locations, replace/upgrade signage, a traffic signal and culverts.
Project benefits The purpose of the project is to restore the facility to a state of good repair, requiring minimal maintenance, while improving ride quality. Complete Streets elements will be incorporated. The project will also bring guardrail, concrete barrier, and Americans with Disabilities Act elements to current standards. The project also includes drainage improvements and improved maintenance vehicle safety features.
