Caltrans set to begin Trinity County bridge maintenance project

Caltrans today announced it will begin work today, Monday, Sept. 16, on a bridge maintenance project to provide needed repairs on 16 bridges in Trinity County, improving travel and facilitating goods movement. Operations on the $5.73 million project will include polyester concrete overlays and joint seal and abutment work.

Motorists should anticipate one-way traffic control at the following locations, with approximately 5-minute delays Mondays to Fridays between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Salt Creek Bridge – Highway 3, south of Hayfork near 13 Dips Road.
Hayfork Creek Bridge – Highway 3, near Riverview Road in Hayfork.
Browns Creek Bridge – Highway 3, north of Hayfork near B Bar K Road.
Reading Creek Bridge – Highway 3, approximately 1 mile south of junction with Highway 299.
Stuart Fork Bridge – Highway 3, north of Weaverville near Trinity Alps Road.
Trinity River Bridge – Highway 3, approximately 0.5 mile north of Coffee Creek.
Scorpion Creek Bridge – Highway 3, approximately 1 mile north of Coffee Creek.
Trinity River Bridge – Highway 3, approximately 1.5 miles north of Coffee Creek.
Trinity River Bridge – Highway 3, approximately 2 miles north of Coffee Creek.
Trinity River Bridge – Highway 3, north of Coffee Creek near Eagle Creek Campground.
Trinity River Bridge – Highway 3, north of Coffee Creek near Bear Creek Loop.
Rattlesnake Creek Bridge – Highway 36, approximately 2 miles east of Forest Glen.
Upper Rattlesnake Bridge – Highway 36, approximately 3.5 miles east of Forest Glen.
Ditch Gulch Bridge – Highway 36, just west of junction with Highway 3.
Indian Creek Bridge – Highway 299, approximately 2 miles east of Douglas City.
Grass Valley Creek Bridge – Highway 299, approximately 8 miles east of Douglas City.

Drivers are reminded that the law requires them to slow down, obey temporary speed limit reductions, and drive carefully in and around construction areas. Q&D Construction LLC is the lead contractor on the project. Work will pause upcoming for winter and is currently planned for completion by early summer 2025.
