Chamber of Commerce Gala
The Lassen County Chamber of Commerce presents their Annual Gala from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Oc. 7, at the Veterans Memorial Hall. They are excited to announce that the chamber’s Gala Committee has been hard at work putting together an event to remember. The Gala is a catered event at the Veteran’s Memorial Hall across from the high school. Please join us to celebrate our local business community with a magical night, with live music, good food, drinks, silent auction, friends and fun. We will be honoring our wonderful chamber members, with special recognition for the Chamber of Commerce, Business of the Year and the Lassen County, Volunteer of the Year. VFW, Veterans of Foreign Wars William Davidson Post 2381 presents Saturday Breakfast. April Through December from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial Hall. VFW Post 2381 will be serving breakfast on the first Saturday of each month. Breakfast is open to the public. Breakfast will be held downstairs in the Veterans Memorial Building.

Lassen Community College Lecture Series
In our community, Lassen Community College presents a unique opportunity to engage in various enriching discussions with their free lunchtime lecture series. The series takes place every Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Lassen Library District Conference Room. These weekly, hour-long sessions delve into diverse topics ranging from practical skills such as writing effective professional emails and starting a small business, to crowd-pleaser topics including beekeeping and the mysterious world of spiders. They even cover critical issues like managing financial worries and cyber-awareness skills for the whole family. For a special treat, they also offer beginner and intermediate classes in AI with ChatGPT. All are invited to join these free, educational events.
