According to a Facebook post by the California Highway Patrol, “On Feb. 1, 2026, between 12:43 and 12:46 a.m., a U-Haul box truck was stolen from 268 Main Street in Chester. It is a 2017 Ford Econoline, U-Haul 15’ box truck with traditional white and orange U-Haul markings. Arizona License plate: AH49888
“Any information, suspicious vehicles or people in the area, or any video footage from businesses or door cameras, during that time frame, please report to CHP Dispatch at (530) 252-1900.
“Additionally, sometime between the evening of Jan. 31, 2026, and the morning of Feb. 1, 2026, approximately $50,000 worth of tools and supplies were taken from the new Seneca Hospital construction site in Chester.
“Any information, suspicious vehicles or people in the area, or any video footage from businesses or door cameras, during that timeframe, please report to Plumas County Sheriff’s Office at (530) 283-6300.
