City Council announces two meetings Wednesday
Another busy day down at City Hall as the Susanville City Council announces two meetings to be held Wednesday, June 18.
A special meeting begins at 3 p.m. The closed session meeting includes two items — an evaluation of City Manager Dan Newton and another conference with labor negotiators regarding the Fire Unit; the Miscellaneous Unit; the Public Works Unit; the Susanville Police Officers Association; Department Heads (city clerk, economic development director, finance director, public safety chief and the public works director).
A regularly scheduled meeting begins at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the City Council Chambers, 66 N. Lassen St.

Consent calendar
Items on the Consent Calendar include minutes from the council’s June 4 regular and special meetings; vendor and payroll warrants and the approved positions list.
Public hearings
The council will hold a public hearing regarding Resolution No, 25-6446, establishing and adopting a schedule for fees (previously Resolution No. 24-6362).
New business
The council considers a number of new business items including consideration of Resolution No. 25-6448 adopting the city’s 2025/26 budget; consideration of Resolution No. 25-6441 establishing appropriation limitations for fiscal year 2025/26; a presentation on the Small Cities Organized Risk Effort (SCORE insurance presentation); consideration of Resolution No. 25-6445 renewing the city’s insurance policies through SCORE; consideration of Resolution No. 25-6442 authorizing the closure of Main Street for the Lassen County Fair Parade; consideration of Resolution No. 25-6443 adopting a list of street related maintenance, repair and improvement projects; consideration of Resolution No. 25-6444 regarding an amendment to an agreement with Pee Wee Enterprises regarding culvert replacement on the Ramsey Ditch; and consideration of Resolution No. 256447 approving a $50,000 increase to the public safety-police budget.
