City Council, Planning Commission hold special meeting Wednesday

The Susanville City Councils holds a special meeting at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4 at the Council Chambers, 66 N. Lassen St.

Susanville Planning Commissioners Wayne Jambois, James Merchant, Tony Ardito, Rod DeBoer and Matthew Eltzroth are expected to attend.

The lone item on the agenda is a public hearing on the Comprehensive and Technical General Plan Update 2025-2050: Community Outreach Study Session.

At the meeting, city leaders will receive comments from community members, planning commissioners, city council members, local developers and contractors regarding the proposed updates to the general plan.

According to the agenda item, “Comprehensive update to the City of Susanville General Plan 1990- 2010, of its Housing, Community Character, Open Space, Parks, Recreation, Childcare, Community Health, Safety, Conservation, and Implementation Program Chapters in the existing General Plan Elements, including the required environmental clearance. The selected Consultant will review the City’s existing Housing, Community Character, Open Space, Parks, Recreation, Childcare, Community Health, Safety, Conservation, and Implementation Program Chapters in the existing General Plan Elements, including the required environmental clearance, and update the document to reflect current conditions and City policies to meet the requirements found at Government Code Section 65302 within legally mandated timeframes.
