City Council will hold two meetings tomorrow
The Susanville City Council will hold two meetings tomorrow — Wednesday, May 20.
The council will hold a special, closed session meeting at 2:30 p.m. to hold interviews for the Public Works Director position; consider City Manager recruitment; and discuss the Public Safety Chief position.
Then the council will hold its regularly scheduled meeting at 4:30 p.m.
Items on the agenda include Business from the Floor (public comment); approval of the Consent Calendar (minutes of the May 1 Special Meeting and the May 6 regular meeting and vendor and payroll warrants).

Public hearings
The council will consider Ordinance No. 26-1051, amending the city of Susanville zone map to designate the Loves Travel Stop parcel as General Commercial and Shopping Center upon the property’s annexation into the city.
New business
Under new business, the council will consider: Resolution No. 26-6540 accepting a $1,000 donation from the Walmart Spark Good Foundation for the Susanville Police Department; Resolution No. 26-6541 authorizing the closure of North Street between Grad Avenue and N. Weatherlow St. between 6 and 9 a.m. in support of the Lassen County Chamber of Commerce annual Show and Shine Car Show at Memorial Park June 27; Resolution No. 26-6542 approving the use of the Susanville Municipal Airport by the Susanville Experimental Aircraft Association for the June 6 Airfair — the resolution also authorizes the city to pay half of the cost of liability insurance for the event; Resolution No. 26-6543 authorizing the city manager (including interim or acting) to make determinations regarding Industrial Disability Retirement; Resolution No. 26-6544 approving Amendment No. 2 to the professional services agreement with R.E,Y. Engineers for the Southeast Gateway Project; and discussion of the 2026-27 draft budget.
Other items
Continuing business — a discussion regarding emergency operations at the Memorial Ball Park Grandstand; department reports (city clerk’s department); and a discussion of future council items.
The council’s next regularly scheduled meeting will be held at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 3.
