Community pool proposes summer program

OK, maybe it’s snowing outside in Susanville these days, but the Honey Lake Valley Recreation Authority and its pool staff are hard at working making plans for the new community pool’s first full season of operation.

Reesa Rice, the pool’s manager, presented a proposed schedule of programs at the pool to the authority’s board last month. The proposed program would begin in June.

While Rice acknowledged the pool has not yet been open for a complete season, she said her proposed program is based upon the experience staff acquired during last year’s partial season.

Director Kathie Garnier expressed some concern because she wondered if the proposed schedule left enough opportunities for the community to use the pool.

Rice said the proposed pool schedule would adequately serve the community, and it could be adjusted if needed.
