Culvert rehabilitation project to begin on Highway 3 near Fort Jones

The California Department of Transportation District 2 and Sunrise Excavating are preparing to begin work on the Fort Jones Culverts Project on Highway 3 in Siskiyou County. The $562k project will provide culvert rehabilitation at five locations near Fort Jones, from just north of South Kidder Creek Road to approximately 1 mile south of West Moffet Creek Road.

Construction activities are currently planned to start on Monday, Sept. 8. Motorists will encounter one-way traffic control with up to 10-minute delays, Mondays through Fridays between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily. Motorists are urged to slow down and drive carefully in and around construction areas, follow speed limit reductions in place, and allot extra time for delays. The project is currently anticipated to be completed by mid-October.
