Curve warning sign replacement project to begin on various routes

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans District 2) and Highway Specialty Company, Inc. are preparing to begin work on a curve warning sign replacement project in various counties in our region, according to a statement from Caltrans.

The $290k project will remove and replace curve warning signs at the following locations:

Highway 395 (Lassen County): At various locations between Litchfield and Madeline.
Highway 99 (Tehama County): At various locations between the junction with South Avenue and the junction with Higjway 36 in Red Bluff.
Highway 151 (Shasta County): At various locations between Shasta Dam and Lake Boulevard.
Highway 263 (Siskiyou County: At various locations between Anderson Grade Road and State Route 96, north of Yreka.
Highway 284 (Plumas County): At various locations between State Route 70 and Frenchman Lake.

Construction activities are currently planned to start Monday, Aug. 19. When work is underway, motorists should plan for one-way traffic control with up to 5-minute delays, Mondays through Fridays during daytime hours. Motorists are urged to slow down and drive carefully in and around construction areas, follow speed limit reductions in place and allot extra time for delays. The project is currently anticipated to be completed by the end of this year.
