District 1 Supervisor not seeking re-election — filing deadline extended to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13

Lassen County District 1 Supervisor Chris Gallagher did not file to run for re-election in the March 5, Presidential Primary, and the deadline to file to run for that seat has been extended.

Lassen County District 1 Supervisor Chris Gallagher will not seek re-relection this March.

According to a statement from Lassen County Clerk Julie Bustamante, “The deadline to file a Declaration of Candidacy has been extended to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2023 for the race of Lassen County Supervisor, District 1, because the incumbent did not file by the deadline.

“Any person, other than the incumbent, wishing to file can do so at the County Clerk’s Election office in the Annex behind the Historic Courthouse at 220 S. Lassen St, Susanville. More information is available by calling (530 251-8217.”

Qualifications
County Supervisors, District 1
Must be a registered voter and otherwise qualified to vote for that office at the time nomination papers are issued, and shall reside in the district during term of office. Each member shall have been a registered voter of the district which they seek to represent for at least 30 days immediately preceding the deadline for filing nomination documents for the office of supervisor and shall reside in the district during their incumbency. Term of Office: 4 years. Term begins: Jan.6, 2025.
Candidate Filing Fee: $410.55.
