It’s coming in just two days — those delicious, free hot dogs will be served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29 at the Lassen Municipal Utility District’s annual Customer Appreciation Day, held at the parking lot of the publicly owned utility district’s future home on the corner of North Gay and Main streets in Susanville.
Attendees will enjoy a giant tent with plenty of shaded seating, cool giveaways — including $300 in LMUD energy gift cards — and those famous hot dogs.

The first 50 guests can pick up a solar-powered, hand-crank radio (limit one per household). And everyone who attends can enter a drawing for one of three $100 energy gift cards. Customers can also collect a swag bag full of lots of cool goodies.
Way back in June 2008, LMUD’s staff, management and board members launched the district’s Customer Appreciation Day celebration — a tradition that has grown over the decades into a much-loved celebration of community-owned power. That first year, LMUD served about 150 customers and gave away an LED flatscreen TV.
