There are some local traditions you just don’t want to miss — one of them is the 11th annual Turkey Trot held tomorrow, Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 28, at the Lassen County Hall of Justice.
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and the festive 5K fun run/walk/trot begins at 8:30 a.m. Donations of non-perishable food or cash are appreciated, and all proceeds benefit the Susanville Salvation Army.
Ideas for items to donate include box potatoes, cans of cranberry sauce, small cans of yams, boxes of stuffing mix, cans of gravy, frozen pies, canned rolls, canned meats, peanut butter, jelly, soup, canned fruit and canned vegetables.
Prizes will be awarded for best costume and largest family group.
