According to a Facebook post by the Spalding Volunteer Fire Department, it received a call at 12:45 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 16 that the Osprey Hotel next to Lakeview Inn Hotel was on fire.
The SVFD, Stones-Bengard and CalFire responded and the inn was fully engulfed.
We set up containment and suppression.
Unfortunately, the inn is a total loss. Fortunately, no lives were lost, no one was hurt and the fire didn’t spread beyond the building.
We will continue to monitor the area and wet down as needed. Please stay away from what is left of the structure as it is unsafe.
