Emergency culvert repair to begin on Highway 36 in Trinity County

The California Department of Transportation and JS Builders, Inc. are preparing to begin work on an emergency culvert repair project on Highway 36 in Trinity County.

The $165k project will repair/replace portions of a culvert damaged by recent storms on Highway 36 in Mad River at Mad River Road. The project also includes a temporary creek diversion and embankment and rock slope protection work.

Construction activities are currently planned to start Monday, June 1. Motorists will encounter one-way traffic control with up to 15-minute delays, Mondays through Fridays between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily. Motorists are urged to slow down and drive carefully in and around construction areas, follow speed limit reductions in place, and allot extra time for delays. The project is currently anticipated to be completed by mid-July.
