Emergency Vigil at 7:30 p.m. tonight at Chico’s Children’s Park for Johan Sebastian Guerrero; protest set for 11 a.m. Saturday July 18

Chico Indivisible, the Re-Sisters, Veterans Action Group, Chico Peace Alliance, Democratic Action Club of Chico and the California Alliance for Retired Americans and several other community groups will be holding two events to honor his death and display our outrage with a Candlelight Vigil at Children’s Park at 7:30 pm tonight, Tuesday, July 14.and a protest at Children’s Park 11 a.m. Saturday July 18.

According to a statement from Re-Sisters, ICE has struck again only days after murdering Texan Lorenzo Salgado Araujo.

Agents have shot and killed 26-year-old Columbian Johan Sebastian Guerrero who was working here legally, peacefully and with a social security number. Like Araujo, he was also the unintended target of theoretically trained ICE agents. He was murdered in his car in a small town in Biddeford, Maine, where shocked residents have poured into the street to protest the murder of their neighbor.
