Every life matters!

Everyone I know considers premeditated murder to be evil. Many say that plotting and planning another person’s demise is just plain wrong!

Yet, when one decides to commit abortion, it is hailed to be “a person exercising their right.” Someone dies as planned, and this is the “right” that the Pro-Death camp demands.

Recently, someone I know well was called to a home, where he found a tiny child, who had been born alive lying on a bed. The child was estimated to be between 24 and 26 weeks gestation. He administered aid to the baby and then radioed for air flight to evacuate the tiny one to a large hospital where he could receive proper care in a neo natal ward.

Later, he told me, “The baby wanted to live! His precious face will be forever embedded in my mind.”

I asked him why the baby had been born so early. “She took the abortion pills.” was his answer.

Editor: A question for you. Why is there a bill called “The Born Alive Abortion Survivor’s Protection Act?”

I was glad to hear that this little boy was given both dignity and medical attention. Others are not so fortunate. I just read where abortion proponents claim that “all is not lost; as human baby parts are readily available.”

Planned Parenthood has admitted to harvesting and selling body parts.
Abortion is not women’s healthcare.
Abortion kills innocent babies who feel pain.
Abortion is not a healthy way to solve a “problem.”
Abortion scars women and girls. (and sometimes the baby’s father).

In some states, abortion has no limits.

On March 15,1998, I received a call from someone ready to drive Miss G. to obtain a termination of her pregnancy, which of course would end the life of her unborn child. She shared that her own procedure was so devastating that she thought Miss G. should have information as to what abortion involved, including the possible negative effects. I offered hope and many promises of tangible help to Miss G. and she agreed to continue the pregnancy. We met weekly.

In September 1998, Miss G. gave birth to a beautiful, healthy 7 pound. 11 ounce son. I was privileged to cut his cord and hand him to his mother. What a glorious sight to behold! We both cried for joy!

She chose life for her child, who now is a wonderful husband, who works hard as a paramedic helping others. He and his wife are expecting their first child in the Spring.

Please vote against the willful destruction of innocent human life. Every life matters.

Publisher’s note:  Here’s some information for our readers on The Born Alive Abortion Survivor’s Protection Act, also known as HR 26, noted in this letter to the editor.

According to congress.gov, “This bill establishes requirements for the degree of care a health care practitioner must provide in the case of a child born alive following an abortion or attempted abortion.

“Specifically, a health care practitioner who is present must (1) exercise the same degree of care as would reasonably be provided to any other child born alive at the same gestational age, and (2) ensure the child is immediately admitted to a hospital. Additionally, a health care practitioner or other employee who has knowledge of a failure to comply with the degree-of-care requirements must immediately report such failure to law enforcement.

“A health care practitioner who fails to provide the required degree of care, or a health care practitioner or other employee who fails to report such failure, is subject to criminal penalties — a fine, up to five years in prison, or both.

“An individual who intentionally kills or attempts to kill a child born alive is subject to prosecution for murder.

“The bill bars the criminal prosecution of a mother of a child born alive under this bill and allows her to bring a civil action against a health care practitioner or other employee for violations.”

According to Congress.gov, the bill passed the House of Representatives on a mostly party line vote Jan. 11, 2023 (Republicans — yea 219, nay 0 and 3 not voting. Democrats — yea 1, nay 210 and 1 present.

After passage by the House, it was received in the Senate, read twice and placed on the Senate Legislative Calendar on Jan. 25, 2023.
