Free at-home water quality test kids available to Big Valley Groundwater Basin residents

North County residents who reside within the Big Water Groundwater Basin and get their water from a domestic well can receive a free at-home water test kit.

According to a statement from Lassen County each test kit tests for Nitrate/nitrite and arsenic.

The kits are available at the local UC Cooperative Extension Office in Lassen County (707 Nevada St., Susanville, (530) 251-2601) and Modoc County (202 W. 4th St., Alturas, (530) 233-6400).

Call to make arrangements to pick up a test kit at a different location.
