Publisher’s note: According to a story in The Guardian, “Two people were killed and a child was injured in a shooting at a northern California library Monday evening, authorities said.
“A suspect in the incident at the Chico branch of the Butte County Library has been arrested, according to the Chico police department.”

Congressman James Gallagher issued the following statement in response to a shooting at the Butte County Library in Chico:
“I am heartbroken by this senseless violence and am praying for the victims, their loved ones and everyone impacted by this tragedy. Thank you to the brave law enforcement officers and other first responders who responded quickly to protect our community. Chico is strong, and we will stand together in the days ahead.”
