Hadwick announces Ag Day on the Capitol lawn

Join Assemblymember Heather Hadwick and legislators from across the state for Ag Day at the Capitol on April 21 for a celebration of the farmers, ranchers, producers and innovators who keep California growing.

Hadwick will be bringing a special piece of Assembly District 1 with her — Highland cows, including calves — giving attendees a unique, up-close look at one of the many livestock operations that are part of our rural way of life.

Ag Day brings the agriculture community to Sacramento to showcase the diversity and importance of this vital industry. Attendees can meet producers, learn about innovative practices and experience firsthand the impact of agriculture on our daily lives.

For many, this is also an opportunity to bridge the gap between urban and rural California — to see real livestock up close and have honest conversations about the realities of ranching. That includes the growing challenges posed by unmitigated predator populations, including wolves, and the real impacts these policies have on families, operations, and local economies.

From family farms to future ag leaders, this event highlights the people and products that make California a global agricultural leader—and the importance of ensuring agriculture remains viable for generations to come.
