If you’re a youngster interested in diving into the waters of state politics, Assemblywoman Heather Hadwick has an opportunity for you.
According to her newsletter, Hadwick invites high school, college students and recent graduates to apply for an unpaid or paid internship at her Capitol office or her Redding and Jackson district offices.
Interns will have the opportunity to help constituents, draft correspondence, conduct legislative research, attend legislative hearings or local events and network with local officials, advocates and stakeholders.
Ideal applicants must be enthusiastic about gaining first-hand experience in public service and public policy, and should be friendly, motivated, and mature. Interns should also be comfortable working in a team environment, have good oral and written communication skills, and have the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing deadlines simultaneously.
