Are you ready for a little St. Patrick’s Day grub?

The Lassen Humane Society invites to public to join them at the 16th annual St. Patrick’s Day fundraiser dinner held from 5 to 7 p.m. tonight, Friday, March 15 at the Susanville Senior Center, 1700 Sunkist Drive.

All proceeds benefit the Lassen Humane Society and the animals of Lassen County.

Tickets for the corned beef and cabbage dinner — both dine in and take out — are available at the door — $18 for adults and $10 for children.

There also will be a donation drawing for a number of items.

At it’s Tuesday, March 13, meeting, the Humane Society reported on its recent efforts to spay and neuter as many cats and dogs as possible to help reduce the number of unwanted animals in Lassen County and reduce the number of animals at the Lassen County Animal Shelter. That effort costs money as the society pays of helps pay the cost of the veterinarian services.

During the treasurer’s report, the society reported monthly income of $448.75 and expenses of $11,815.18. Annual income is $1,043.85 and expenses are $31,804.33. The society is using money from estate donations to fund the program. The society hopes to spay or neuter about 1,000 animals this year.
