Lassen Cares reports 40 new community cases: 225 active, 11 hospitalized

As of the 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 11 update, there are 225 active COVID-19 community cases, 1,406 recovered, 11 are currently hospitalized and there have been 10 deaths reported: A total of 1,652 community cases — an increase of 40 new cases since the Friday update.

At the local correctional institutions, Lassen Cares reports there are 54 active cases, 1,884 recovered and two deaths at High Desert State Prison. Additionally, there are 141 active cases and 1,044 recovered cases at CCC, and no active and 245 recovered at FCI Herlong.

Positive correctional staff tests, if they live in Lassen County, are included in the community cases. As of the Jan. 11 update, according to the CDCR COVID-19 tracker, at CCC there are currently 61 active staff cases, and 43 active staff cases at HDSP.

Locally, there have been 14,161 tests administered, with 12,167 returning negative and 342 pending.

For serology testing, which detects the presence of antibodies in the blood, 297 have been tested, 17 returned positive and 280 returned negative.
