Lassen County residents participate in No Kings 2 — the largest political protest in the nation’s history

An estimated 200 Lassen County residents lined both sides of Main Street Saturday, Oct. 18 to participate in No Kings 2 — a protest against the alleged authoritarian actions taken by the Trump administration.

Nationwide, citizens participated in more than 2,400 communities across the country, attracting an estimated 7 million participants — marking it the largest political protest in U.S. history.

According to some reports, the size of the No Kings 2 protest dwarfed the famous Vietnam War protests held in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

Nationwide, public participation more than doubled compared on the No Kings event held in June.

The local protest was peaceful, as participants changed, Hey! Hey! Ho! Ho! Donald Trump has got to go!” and many supporters honked their horns in support as they drove by. There were a few naysayers as well.

Several Republic leaders referred to the protest as a “hate America event,” but Senator Bernie Sanders, speaking at one rally, said the protesters don’t hate America, they love America, and that’s why this is happening.

President Trump posted an AI video of himself flying a King Trump military plane, the president himself in the cockpit wearing a crown. As Trump flew the plane over No Kings protestors, he spewed sewage onto the crowd.
