Domestic Violence Awareness Month is upon us, and we’d love your help to raise awareness of the prevalence of violence within Lassen County. During October, Lassen Family Services hosts events/fundraisers, partnering with other agencies to promote awareness, and participating in community events. Below are lists of things we’d love for you to keep an eye out for/participate in!
Things you may see/hear around town
Lassen Family Services will be tying purple ribbons and informational flyers down Main Street. Domestic Violence Awareness Month banners will be hung by the city.
LFS will be on Live @ 5 Oct. 11 discussing the prevalence of domestic violence in Lassen County.
LFS will be presenting at the high school on October 4th.
Things we’d love to see you participate in this October
Wear purple every Thursday in October and post pictures on social media!
“Ghost” your friends by participating in LFS’ “Ghosting Season” lawn ornament fundraiser.
Joe’s Coffee Shop and Smokin’ Bean will be providing domestic violence awareness coffee sleeves.
Joe’s Coffee Shop will have a signature drink and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to LFS.
Oct. 4 — The City Council will be reading the Domestic Violence Awareness Month Proclamation.
Oct. 6 — The annual Wreath Laying Ceremony will take place at the Sheriff’s Office at 10 a.m.
Oct. 7 — LFS will have an aid station supporting the amazing people participating in The Bizz Johnson Trail Marathon.
Oct. 19 — LFS will have an informational booth at the Janesville School Resource Fair. Stop by and say “hi!”
Oct. 20 and 21 — The 10th Annual Dancing For A Brand New Me!
Oct. 31 — LFS will be handing out candy and information at the Safe & Sane event.
LFS hosts budgeting classes & parenting classes every week, as well as free cooking classes each month.
