Lassen Fire Safe Council holds Oct. 15 meeting

The Lassen Fire Safe Council holds its regularly scheduled monthly meeting at 5:30 pm. Wednesday, Oct. 15 at the Susan River Fire Protection Office at 705-145 Highway 395 in Johnstonville.

Guest speakers
Nathan Daly, Planning Manager, and Eric McPherren, Geospatial Analyst, from Deer Creek Resources will be the guest speakers on the topics, Lassen Countywide hazardous fuels assessment update How DCR is designating community assets within the WUI.

Items on the agenda include the Managing Director’s Report — Active projects (CalFire Grants — South Lassen Wildfire Recovery, North Susanville WUI Fuels Treatments and ELRD Hazard Tree Removal); SNC Grants — (Bootsole, East Side Communities, Diamond Mountain and RFFCP – Hazard Assessment); Other — (Honey Lake Valley RCD-SPA, USFS Cradle Valley/Bootsole Dixe Fire Salvage, CWPP and CFSC-County Coordinator).

Closed out projects — Shingletown WUI Fuels Treatment, Whitmore Forest and Watershed Restoration, Hog and Sheep Fire Forest Restoration, Dyer Mountain WUI Fuels Treatment and Defensible Space Assistance Grant.
