Lassen Fire Safe Council holds Wednesday, June 19, meeting

The Lassen Fire Safe Council holds a general meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, at the Susan River Fire Protection Office, 705-145 Highway 395 in Johnstonville.

Kimbery Bjork, of the American Red Cross, will be the guest speaker, addressing emergency planning, Genasys Protect, Watch Duty App and Red Cross Disaster Management.

Items on the agenda include the Managing Director Report (CalFire Grants — Diamond Mountain Forest and Watershed Restoration, Hog and Sheep Fire Forest Restoration, Shingletown WUI Fuels Treatment, Dyer Mountain WUI Fuels Reduction, Whitmore Forest and Watershed Restoration and Clear Creek and Hog Flat Fuel Treatment; SNC Grants — Bootsole, East Side Communities and Diamond Mountain; and Other Grants — Honey Lake Valley RCD-SPA, California Fire Safe Council County Coordinator, USFS Cradle Valley/Bootsole Dixie Fire Salvage, CWPP, Defensible Space Assistance Grant; Closed Out Projects (Thompson Peak Initiative); New Planned/Awarded Projects (South Lassen Wildfire Recovery Project); Agency Updates (BLM, CalFire, SNC, Ne Ca Fire Prevention, USFS, Susan River FPD, Lassen County OES, SPI, Honey Lake Power, Beaty, Lassen County, Honey Lake Valley RCD, SIR, Red Cross and Firewise Community Leaders; and Public Comment.

The LCFSC’s next meeting is scheduled for Aug. 21. Due to attendance at the Lassen County Fair, a meeting will not be held in July.
