Lassen Humane Society hosts Cat Scratch Fever Fest Saturday, Aug. 2

The Lassen Humane Society presents the Cat Scratch Fever Fest from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2 at Susanville’s Memorial Park.

The event features performances by musical artists at the bandstand — Kelly Ann, the Feather River Revival and Hoots and Annie.

According to a Facebook post, “Come out for a great evening of music in support of the Lassen Humane Society, Aug. 2 at Memorial Park … We will have games for kids, food and ice cream for sale, beer and hard seltzers and a raffle.”

Tickets for the event, a benefit for the Lassen Humane Society, are $10 adult and $5 children presale and $12 for adults and $7 for kids at the door.

Presale tickets are available at Margie’s Book Nook and Millwood Florist.

The events also includes drinks, food, games and fun.

According to the Lassen Humane Society’s Facebook page, the Lassen Humane Society was formed in 1985 by a handful of dedicated volunteers who engaged in the challenge of advocacy for Lassen County animals. Since then, much progress has been made, but challenges remain and the efforts continue. LHS sometimes receives funding from grants which we write ourselves; however, they are unreliable and hard to get. Our more consistent funding comes from annual fundraisers, memberships and donations. We receive no federal, state or local funding. All monies we raise or receive go right back into our Lassen County communities.

Meetings
The Lassen Humane Society meetings — held at 5:15 p.m. the second Wednesday of each month in the Lassen County Board Chambers at 707 Nevada Street beginning at 5:15 p.m. — are open to the public.

Membership
Membership levels are $20 individual; $50 family; $250 sponsor; and $500 lifetime.
