Lassen Youth Wrestling Association again asks county for a reduced rental rate at Fairgrounds

Last year, by a 4-1 vote (District 4 Supervisor Aaron Albaugh cast the lone nay vote), the Lassen County Board of Supervisors approved a reduced rate a rental agreement with Lassen Youth Wrestling for the Floral Building at the Lassen County Fairgrounds after the nonprofit organization lost its practice space.

Now the nonprofit organization is back again asking the supes to reduce the rental rate of a fair building from $200 per day ($16,000 per season) to $20 per day ($1,600 per season) at the board’s Tuesday, Aug. 11 meeting.

According to the agenda item, “The Lassen Youth Wrestling Association is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the young people of our county. The program provides a safe, structured and supportive environment where youth can build physical strength and learn mental fortitude. Wrestling offers valuable life lessons — discipline, perseverance, confidence and sportsmanship — and plays a meaningful role in elevating youth athletics within our community.”

Here’s the agenda for Tuesday’s meeting.
