LCSO, partners, eradicate more than 10,000 illegal pot plants in North County
According to a statement from the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office, more than 10,000 marijuana plants found in greenhouses on two north county parcels as well as harvested marijuana and supplies were eradicated Wednesday, Sept. 4 in a joint effort involving the LCSO, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Lassen County Code Enforcement, Lassen County Environmental Health, the Lassen County Road Department, the California Highway Patrol Air Operations Division and SEMSA.
No suspects were arrested, and the owners of the property will be taxed based upon the size of each greenhouse used in the illegal grows.
These greenhouses were clearly visible from the air.According to the statement, the LCSO and Lassen County Code Enforcement began an investigation last month into the illegal cultivation of marijuana in the Ravendale area. Personnel from the LCSO flew two large suspected grow sites in Ravendale, located off Tuledad Road. The grow sites were determined to be on two separate parcels. Both sites had approximately 18 large greenhouses, outbuildings and trailers. It was determined that marijuana was actively being grown at both sites and a search warrant for each site was issued.
On Sept. 4, personnel from the LCSO and the CDCR executed the search warrants on both parcels. Upon arrival, the Lassen County Special Weapons and Tactics Team utilized a long-range acoustic device and made several announcements and the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office Drone Team was deployed. No suspects were apprehended at either location.

Sheriff’s office personnel located approximately 5,800 marijuana plants at the first location. The second location was searched and personnel located an additional 4,200 marijuana plants. Harvested marijuana was also found at both sites. The marijuana was eradicated along with the greenhouses and cultivation material used in supporting the illegal operation.
The owners of record for both properties will be taxed based on the size of each greenhouse located.
