Letter to the Editor – ‘Humorous’ yellow tier in Lassen County

I find it humorous to read that Lassen County is moving into the yellow tier for COVID-19. Lassen County never participated in any of the tiers. We have had indoor dining, gyms weren’t closed, hair salons and barber shops were open, the theater was open and a fair amount of “non-maskers.”

I also read (I read papers other than the Lassen County Times) about safely opening schools — ha — our schools have been open. Perhaps all the above is why Lassen County has had the highest amount of cases per capita numerous times in the state of California. And at one time we were the seventh in the nation.
