LHS does not renew contract for SPD School Resource Officer on campus
A Facebook post by the Susanville Police Department reveals the end of the decades-long School Resource Officer agreement between Lassen High School and the Susanville Police Department.

According to the post, “We were recently informed by Lassen High School that they will not be renewing the SRO contract with our department. This news came as a disappointment, as our SRO program has been a valued partnership for almost two decades, when our first officer began serving in this important role. We want to thank all the teachers and staff for welcoming our Officers and department over the years.
“We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the officers who have served as SROs at Lassen High School over the years.
“Your dedication to the safety and well-being of the students and school faculty has made a lasting impact.
“While we are saddened to see this chapter close, we will remain committed to the safety of all Susanville residents, including our youth.”
LassenNews’ attempt to contact LHS for comment for this story was unsuccessful.
According to the post, “The Susanville Police Department is pleased to welcome Officer Foulk back to patrol.
“For the past two school years, Officer Foulk has served as the School Resource Officer at Lassen High School, building strong relationships with students and staff while helping to maintain a safe campus environment.
“Welcome back to patrol, Officer Foulk.”
