LMUD thanks linemen for good job restoring power in the Eagle Lake area

Regardless of the weather or the time of day, the linemen at the Lassen Municipal Utility District take on the job of restoring our power when there is an outage.

LMUD offered “a huge thank you to our linecrew for getting the job done – restoring power to those we serve, no matter what obstacles stand in your way. We appreciate your hard work and dedication,” according to a Facebook post.

Here’s what happened
8 a.m. Tuesday, July 7
At approximately 2 a.m.  this morning, LMUD customers North of Merrillville Road, including those on Merrillville Road, lost power. Crews were dispatched immediately and are working to pinpoint the issue.

9:30 a.m.
Crews are still working to locate the cause of the outage that is affecting customers in the Merrillville Road and Eagle Lake areas, including Spalding, Stones, Bucks Lake and Grasshopper Road. Currently, we do not have an estimated time of restoration. We will update this post as more information becomes available. We thank you for your patience and understanding as our crews work as quickly and safely as possible to get the power back on.

11 a.m.
Crews have identified the cause of the power outage: a downed power line in a remote area. Due to the line’s location, we estimate repairs will take approximately 6 to 7 hours. We will continue to update this post as information becomes available.

1:15 p.m.
Crews have completed repairs to the damaged line that caused today’s Eagle Lake outage. All customers should be back in power.
